2/ WHAT IS YOUR WORK ON IPLACEI.COM AND ANDROSGEORGIOU.COM ???
ANDROS...
Both are projects which I designed and developed. I even went back to school to learn how to design and build my own sites. It was hard going back into a classroom environment, especially when most of my peers were half my age and I had had such a brutal school experience as a kid. But I can now confidently say that I’m pretty handy with Photoshop and Dreamweaver.
iplacei.com is the result of my years researching what new business model in the music industry would have a real chance of surviving. We live in a world where a new music web site go up every 5 minutes, and the majority fail to make a profit for its artists. If Aegean.net had continued on the path that I originally had set it on, it would have now been a major online music portal, pretty much what iTunes has become.
It is a fact that Aegean was the first to sell music online, and that I was the first to embrace the idea of music sales and distribution via the Internet. At the time artists were giving away their music online and the major labels missed the opportunity to take control and take advantage of the situation. Today, 12 years later, the music business as we know it is dying. Labels are no longer investing in their artists as they used to, and the quality of music has gone down the drain. Even artists are losing money, so we end up paying for it via sky-high ticket prices.
With iplacei.com, I want to basically finish what I started at Aegean. Iplacei.com is a social-networking home for new songwriters and authors. The overall idea is to help empower new talent, allowing it to thrive while earning income via music placement. I cannot change the Industry but I can help new artists discover new opportunities. Iplacei.com is an extension of what I have been doing for the past 28 years.
